Sarah Tradewell is an accomplished musician across a variety of genres.  She was the 2011 and 2012 BC Fiddle Champion and performed at the first Victory Ceremony of the 2010 Vancouver Olympics.  She has been invited to attend the Canadian Grand Masters Fiddling Championships four times.  Sarah is a classically trained singer, violinist, and violist with a dance and musical theatre background.  Professional theatre experiences include the fiddler in Hank Williams (Victoria’s Blue Bridge Repertory Theatre and Saskatoon’s Persephone Theatre), fiddle and backup vocals in Patsy Cline (BBRT), and chorus, violin, and viola in My Fair Lady (BBRT).  As a music performance student entering fourth year at UVic, Sarah was the winner of the 2013 UVic Bach Competition, played principal viola with the UVic Symphony for two years, played with the Victoria Symphony, and performed in the Sydney Opera House in Australia.

Classes:

Beginner:  Learn a beginner contest set of old time tunes, including a beautiful waltz and a jig.

Beginner Plus:  Learn some fun dancing tunes and be introduced to the joys of twin fiddling by learning a harmony part to a tune we all know, and how to create one yourself.

Intermediate Plus:  Learn to clog your feet as a way to accompany yourself while playing a reel.  We’ll also learn a tune or two that are great for competing with.
