Daniel Lapp’s annual Joy of Life Festival returns to Alix Goolden Performance Hall this year with two concerts, including an all-new Celebrate Youth concert! Joy of Life has a 20+ year history celebrating life and all the wonders it brings us, as we renew our commitment to caring for each other, for the land, and for the environment.
Friday, April 28 | Celebrate Youth
Alix Goolden Performance Hall | Doors 6:30 Show 7:30pm
Special Guests : Aidan Knight, Métis dancers the Joyful Jiggers, and the Veselka Ukrainian Dancers
New this year! The Celebrate Youth Concert features current Victoria Conservatory of Music students and alumni with a few special guests. Festivities include:
· Performances from the B.C. Fiddle Orchestra and Alumni
· Celebration of latest B.C. Fiddle Orchestra recording, “Live in Alix Goolden Performance Hall”, filmed in 2020.
· Live performances by the two inaugural winners of the VCM’s new “Celebrate Youth Award for Emerging Young Contemporary Music Artists”.

Saturday, April 29 | Joy of Life Concert

Special Guest: Khari Wendell McClelland
The Joy of Life concert is an inter-generational event that features well over 100 adult students young to golden who make up Daniel’s renowned ensembles Folkestra and Joy of Life Choir. They are full of life and excited to share an evening of iconic BC and Canadian tunes accompanied by Daniel’s amazingly talented house band including Danuel Tate (piano), Wes Carroll (guitar), Scott White (bass), and Jamie Try (drums).
The evening will be topped off with performances by BC Fiddle Orchestra Alumni, and Daniel’s special guest.
