Fiddle Workshops with Geoff and Trish Horrocks
Beginner / Intermediate Workshop (Noon to 1:30 pm)
Come out for a fun afternoon of fiddling with Geoff and Trish Horrocks! In this class, you will learn some standard jam-session tunes along with “groove” and harmony lines suitable for all skill levels. We’ll also work on some basic technique, and give you some ideas to help you participate more fully in the monthly jam sessions. Sign up for this class if you have been playing for up to 4 years. Material will be taught by ear, and all sheet music and recordings will be provided at the end of class. Please arrive 15 minutes early.
Intermediate / Advanced Workshop (2:00 pm to 3:30 pm)
As in the beginner / intermediate class, we will be teaching standard tunes with “groove” and harmony lines, but the pace of this class will be very fast. In 90 minutes we will teach two complete arrangements that students can use in performances or when busking on Government Street! We will also talk about some important aspects of playing in a group. This class is suitable for players with more than 4 years on their instrument. Material will be taught by ear, and all sheet music and recordings will be provided at the end of class. Please arrive 15 minutes early.
