Cohan Lyne is a Victoria-based musician with a rich musical background. They began their journey with classical studies at the Demahler Academy of Music, before discovering a passion for folk music. In 2015, Cohan joined the BC Fiddle Orchestra, honing their skills in fiddle music under the guidance of Daniel Lapp until their graduation in 2022. Cohan further explored their interest in Irish music through private studies with Q Bachand, deepening their understanding of traditional Irish styles. Additionally, they had the opportunity to tour Ireland with the Coastline Fiddle Ensemble, bringing music to audiences across the Emerald Isle. In 2024, Cohan co-founded the WestCoast Barn Dances, a unique initiative offering monthly step-by-step dance tutorials accompanied by live music. This project showcases Cohan’s dedication to sharing the joy of traditional music and dance with their community.
