Daniel Lapp and his new Woodbox Records Label created to Proclaim, Preserve and Promote British Columbia’s rich heritage of indigenous fiddle music is hosting a Festival!
Each year, the festival will feature artists who have released new Woodbox albums or are going to! This year we are launching WR004 entitled ’Saltchuck’ by Vancouver based, multiple BC Fiddle Champion, MICHAEL BURNYEAT!
The festival will also feature current Canadian Fiddle Champion and 14-year-old wunderkind, Max Francis whose album ‘Home’ was the first Woodbox release, and Tia Greenwood, a BC Fiddle Orchestra alumni who left Victoria last year on a full tuition scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston and who will be recording a Woodbox album this summer. Adam Dobres will perform also as well as teach an afternoon Guitar Workshop. Other Workshops will be led by Michael and Max, and Daniel Lapp will do an afternoon presentation on the 150 Year History of BC Fiddle Music.
